PINOYLIBERALMINDS:

I received this comment a few minutes ago: “and i might say she’s a hypocrite. LOL. she may be saying a few good points, but generally she speaks like Filipino blood is not running through her veins.”

Au contraire. Dugong Pilipino ito. I have always been FOR the Pinoy.

Hypocrisy is when you profess to have the best interests of this country at heart, but you write obnoxious articles to flaunt your expensive college educations and harangue other Filipinos who don’t know any better because they went to school on the outskirts of the city. If your primary goal is to educate the Filipino, to stamp out obsolete voting mentalities and espouse critical thinking, do it the right way. You know what the right way is. It’s NOT to call the voters names like “Gingineer” or to call candidates names like “Abnoy” and “Ngoyngoy” and stain Cory Aquino’s legacy (Oo, legacy pa rin kahit walang kuryente. Ibinalik ang demokrasya! Magpasalamat ka. Don’t be a fascist and claim you would have preferred the alternative: a Soviet Union under Stalin) by discrediting the sweat, blood and tears she invested in the restoration of this democracy. Disgusting. If cyberspace were a court of law, you would be held in contempt and thrown out on your ass. Fight fair, and for God’s sake, agree to disagree. How can you expect your counterparts to listen to your arguments when you punctuate every sentence with low blows?

Subconsciously, you don’t really want them to listen; you just want to drag them through the muck for refusing to share your perspective.

Think about it. You’ve made a good case for Dick Gordon. No question about the veracity of your facts: Dick Gordon could turn the Philippines into Subic. But how is he going to do that without the support of the majority?

Change tactics. You’re in the middle of a collective back-patting session while the rest of the country is in chaos.

* * * * *

BONGV:

no such thing as “Filipino” blood – inasmuch as there is no such thing as “Filipino” race. the human genome project has refuted the notion of “race” beyond refutable doubt.

the belief in a “Filipino” race – is frankly, racist.

How can you be for FOR the Pinoy, when you tolerate stupid behavior. It PANDERS to the Pinoy, but is it for the GOOD of the Pinoy? HELL, NO. That’s hypocrisy right there. Profeesing GOOD and promoting STUPID and BOORISH behavior.

This is a free country and assigning nicknames to public figures does not in anyway detract from the need of obsolete voting mentalities. Take you for instance, you are voting for winnability – that’s so WRONG – and thero is no date expiration stamp on what’s WRONG. And you want to drag other Filipinos into your obsolete thinking – WINNABILITY? Is that good for the Filipino? If we want winnability – why stop at Noynoy, let’s go all the way for DOLPHY!!!

Second, Cory does not have a monopoly of the claim to democracy. That bitch was nowhere to be found at the height of the people’s struggle – she, along with Kris and Noynoy where living the life in Boston. Whereas, the likes of us had to eke it out in Agdao-, Ma-a, mandug, Buhangin – don’t give me that BS about sacrifice. everyone, except marcos and his cronies – sacrificed! so puhleeze, don’t put cory on a pedestal that does not belong to her – it belongs to the people.

I’ll say it again – that clueless bitch called Corty has no monopoly of blood, sweat, and tears, – she even let swindled farmers of their land, and she did not do anything to stop the massacre of farmers in hacienda luisita. Cory can shove her democracy right up her ass. Dang, where was she when Nanding Torralba was shot? Or when Babette Prudencio was shot with an M203 through her belly – killling her and her child? These people struggled and gave more than your Cory bitch.

Fair is fair. you are being heard here. Present your arguments. You have no argument and you are just whining – if AP weren’t fair – you’ll be banned, or your comment marked as spam or your IP banned – as they do in filipinovoices.com, barriosiete.com, ellentordesillas.com, and quezon.ph. reply to the article instead of resortin gto strawman replies.

Who doesn’t want to listen – we have been listening to this crap since childhood. We’ve had enough of listening to this crap – it’s your turn to listen to our crap. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Good that you acnowledge the veracity of the facts.

You raise the right question, but you address it to the wrong party – that’s what you ought to ask the noynoy voters – why settle for a noynoy if you want the Philippines to be prosperous like Subic or Marikina?

On the contrary, the tactics are quite good – the fact that you are here, and coming here, and duking it out on AP.

* * * * *

PINOYLIBERALMINDS:

“Cory bitch.” Wow. Wala talaga kayong sinasantong tao. Sometimes I ask myself why I even bother to “debate” with people who are so bloated in their sense of superiority that every single valid contradictory point is automatically flushed down the toilet so as not to contaminate the fascism in this blog. And the answer is: I BOTHER, GODAMMIT, BECAUSE I WILL KEEP TRYING.

Calm down, BongV. You might choke on your self-righteous indignation.

The post “Iya Justimbaste Is an Idiot” is meant to discredit Iya Justimbaste’s combative way of pushing her candidate. Is she campaigning for Dick Gordon or de-campaigning for Noynoy Aquino? Too much negative campaigning. How dare you espouse an election run by principles when you can’t even campaign with principle! Read the comments on my post—I grit my teeth and address every hit and low blow I get with as much diplomacy as I can muster. I “approve” all comments by default, and I never censor or ban anyone from my blog. I don’t make sexist, racist and other derogatory swipes at your sexist, racist and derogatory rebuttals. I address your comments with the prudence and discretion that you clearly don’t deserve. I don’t poke fun at your names or use terms like “egghead” and “engot”—and let me tell you, I’ve been sorely tempted to stoop down to your level and hurl uglier obscenities in your faces. But I won’t do that because that’s not why I’m here. I don’t charge blindly into the fray with complete disregard for the casualties who will eat the dust. I have a sense of social and political accountability, and I will play by the rules. Unlike you, I DON’T DISMISS A VALID POINT JUST BECAUSE I DON’T LIKE THE SOURCE.

Get over yourselves and disband this Gordon clique. I’m assuming that every person who posts a comment on this blog is a Filipino—whether by birthright or simply at heart—and these people need to broaden their perspectives and understand that they belong to a bigger society: one that’s not only pro-Gordon or pro-Aquino or pro-Villar or pro-Erap, but one that will have to contend with the aftermath of the election this May. No matter who replaces GMA in Malacanang, he/she will be installed in Malacanang by the will of the people (provided that there isn’t an electronic Garci in May), and it’s your responsibility as taxpayers of this country to unite the people, not pit them against each other like dogs. ADMU President Fr. Ben Nebres says, “Be assertive, not aggressive.” Learn to be pacifists, and Dick Gordon might have more than a snowball’s chance in hell of becoming President in May.

It makes me very, very sad to read blogs by Filipinos with only negative things to say about Filipinos. Take Iya Justimbaste, for example. She uses words that are bigger than she is, ideas that she drowns in, and righteous indignation that burns her down to the ground. At the end of every whiny blog post, you can almost picture her in a curtsy, striking a pose for the cameras. “Lookit me, lookit me, aren’t I smart?” Her gang of rabid, equally-idiotic activist-friends egg her on by posting affrimative comments that are so far out of context that the entire conversation thread ends up looking like a map of alternate routes from Brazil to Yugoslavia. Iya Justimbaste delivers long-winded monologues about the idiocy of Philippine politics, the idiocy of the Philippine government, the idiocy of the Filipino people, the “dirtiness” of LRT/MRT—and ends every blog post with this idiocy: “Everytime I go the the US it seems as if I never want to go back to the Philippines where everything is dirty. Stupidity is deeply rooted in the Filipino people.”

When intelligent readers read her blog posts, they hear crickets. A blank pause. A “Huh?” moment. That moment when you sink your teeth into a Cheez Curl and realize that there’s nothing but air inside.

A UP student asked me once, after reading one of Iya Justimbaste’s whinings, “What’s her point?”

“She doesn’t have one—that’s the whole point,” I say, and we both fell on the ground, shrieking with laughter. “She likes to use words that have more than six syllables. They make her feel like an intellectual. Why don’t you post a comment on her blog; an innocent, logical, polite, innocuous, inoffensive comment that questions the legitimacy of her opinions, and I bet you an entire month’s paycheck that she will slap you down with ad-hominem-non-sequitur-ad-hoc rebuttals. She will answer every single contradictory comment with cheap shots like ‘tanga’ and ‘bobo’ and ‘engot’ and ‘bakla’ and ‘kaya di umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil sa mga engot na katulad mo’ and ‘yan kasi nagreresearch ako ikaw hindi!’ She calls the Filipino ‘stupid’—isn’t that rich, coming from Iya Justimbaste?” (and here we clutch at our stomachs, quaking with laughter) “An elderly OFW, bless his soul, once posted a comment on Iya Justimbaste’s blog that went, ‘Masama ba ang bumoto sa anak ng mga matitinong tao?’ and Iya Justimbaste wittily retorted, ‘Di na kita papatulan! I-check mo na lang sa dictionary ano meaning ng ad hominem kasi feeling ko di mu alam yun.’ Iya Justimbaste loves to talk about the bastardization of democracy (she can build the entire premise of her argument with fifty synonyms of that word) but, oh, the irony! And you, of course, you the intelligent reader—you’re stuck, you’re done, you’ve lost. If you say one more word, there’s no other way for you to go but down, down, down to the level of the soles of her shoes (the size of which, coincidentally, is directly proportional to her IQ).”

I’m not surprised that this blog is the laughingstock of UP and ADMU students.

As one of Iya Justimbaste’s readers pointed out: Look at both sides, and lay them out responsibly. Interpolate and examine. Don’t just whine; suggest solutions. Don’t bully people into seeing things from your perspective, because that will only make them laugh harder. So far, every single thing that’s come out of Iya Justimbaste’s mouth is an expenditure of words on a budget of ideas. And because she’s an idiot, she (and her equally idiotic friends) will miss the whole point of this post and will reply with “Kung ayaw mo ang mga sinusulat ko eh di wag mung basahin” sabay “tanga bobo engot bakla kaya di umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil sa mga engot na katulad mo yan kasi nagreresearch ako ikaw hindi!”
